Works for me. You’re my favorite strategist from North County.

Hey, I went ahead and changed planning to strategy in our themeline. One small step in the right direction.

I say, if you’re going to go for a name change, certainly you can think bigger than that. How about something that implies proactivity – in an environment where the rest of us spend every minute being reactive (read: hair on fire). You also have to be careful to remember that the best strategy comes from everywhere. How about the anticipation team? Or frontline? Or advance team? Something that reinvents the role that the department plays for the agency? I say think big and new. Think about how we make the role of the department grander, more aspirational and more visionary. To change a name, you have to get people to change how they think about you. If you’re gonna go to all that trouble – you might as well go big. I’ll be your biggest advocate.

Back in the earlier days of Planning, we were Consumer Insights and while descriptive it always required explanation to clients and prospective clients. So we got on board with Account Planning – but it’s high time for a change. I like “strategists”.

I love Advance Team. It implies proactivity, innovation… and a bit a bravery. Combine it with Strategists. The Advance Stratey Team? Too long?

I like “Advance Strategy Team”. Or the “Advancing Strategy Team” And we could still be called Strategists, I think.

Something to be said for “insight team” but then needing to apply the concept of “movement” or “challenge” to the moniker to communicate the idea that the information coming from this team will inspire/ push/ ignite other teams within the agency.

“Advance” sounds like “advanced” to me – more that the team is of higher level thinking, when really you want to get across that these are forward-moving ideas.

Tough call on a team name, but I agree with Steve . . . there’s got to be something bigger/ better than strategy. Look at the “data” team – they are trying to “rebrand” themselves “insight” . . .
